HOW STEELHEAD MANIFESTO WAS BORN
Steelhead Manifesto was founded in 2013 with one goal: create a place where passionate steelhead anglers from the Great Lakes and Pacific Northwest could come together to share knowledge, tactics, stories, and an obsession for chasing chrome.
What started as a small steelhead fishing blog built along the riverbanks of the Great Lakes quickly evolved into one of the largest online steelhead fishing communities in North America. From Michigan tributaries and Steelhead Alley rivers to legendary Pacific Northwest steelhead waters, Steelhead Manifesto was created for anglers who live and breathe steelhead fishing.
The original vision was simple build a platform dedicated entirely to steelhead fishing education, river conditions, float fishing, centerpin fishing, spawn bags, beads, drift tactics, steelhead gear reviews, and real-world fishing experiences. As the site grew, so did the community.
Since 2013, Steelhead Manifesto had published hundreds of steelhead articles, fishing reports, tutorials, and product reviews covering Great Lakes steelhead fishing and Pacific Northwest steelhead techniques. The launch of the Steelhead Manifesto Facebook community accelerated that growth even further, connecting anglers from across the United States and Canada through fishing discussions, steelhead photos, educational content, river reports, humor, and outdoor lifestyle content.
Today, Steelhead Manifesto reaches more than 200,000 followers across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X, and other social media platforms. Depending on the season, content from the Steelhead Manifesto network reaches well over 2 million anglers every 30 days in season, making it one of the most active and influential steelhead fishing communities online.
The community continues to grow because it stays true to its roots: helping anglers become better steelheaders while preserving the passion, traditions, and culture surrounding steelhead fishing.
Whether you fish with a centerpin rod, spinning rod, fly rod, plugs, beads, jigs, or spawn bags, Steelhead Manifesto welcomes anglers from all backgrounds and skill levels. From East Coast tributaries to West Coast rivers, the mission remains the same unite steelhead anglers through education, entertainment, and a shared addiction to chasing the mighty steelhead.
